My Plumber and My Difficult Plumbing Job

When I made the decision to do my own remodeling job last summer, I thought that it would be an easy thing that I could do by myself. It was just the bathroom, right? I only had to fix a couple of things and then I was going to be able to have a nice, shiny new bathroom that I would be able to enjoy warm, comfortable baths in for whatever period of time that I wanted to do so in. That being said, I started the process simply enough, but as the job went on, I realized that I was going to need the help of Northbrook plumbers to be able to finish the job that needed to be done.

You see, when you’re switching from a normal bathtub to a bathtub that is a little larger and has those jets in it, you have to make a number of adjustments in order to make sure that it’s all working correctly. The plumbing on the inside is not as simple as disconnecting the old bathtub and reconnecting the new one – instead, you’re going to have to take a few steps in order to be able to have everything working as it needs to be. In short, it’s not as easy as it initially looks like it’s going to be when you first start taking everything apart.

I was about halfway through my first attempt when I realized that I was starting to make a mess of things. I think it took me until the toilet started squirting up water that I quickly realized I was never going to be able to do this whole job on my own. So, I called in my Northbrook plumbers and talked to them about what the problem was. They made an appointment for me the very next day.

I actually learned a lot from the Northbrook plumbers that came in to take care of my tough job for me. They told me about the errors that I had made and started to guide me as to how they were going to fix them. Then, they even put in a couple of additional safeguards so that I wouldn’t have to worry about the potential issues that would come along after I had been using the tub and toilet for a while. They did everything that I needed them to do for a fair price, and I felt really confident in their quality of work  when they were done doing it.

So, would I recommend these Northbrook plumbers? Absolutely. They did all the work that I needed them to do and I knew that the job was done right the first time that they did it. If you have a plumbing job that you aren’t totally sure about doing yourself, I recommend that you call them as soon as you can so that you can get the job done correctly and quickly by a professional who knows what they’re doing.

  1. Thanks for sharing your story. I was recently staying in a friend's cabin with some relatives when our plumbing mysteriously started having issues. Unfortunately, I ended up doing more harm than good. Needed, like you, to get professionals in there. I'm all for DIY, but only if I've got a solid guide to what I'm doing. http://www.kamziks.com/Residential_Plumbing.html
